February 21, Friday, Sunny
Today is the last day of work this week, and it is approaching weekends; I’m glad that I will have time to do personal matters.
In today’s diary, I am going to write about my company’s daily meeting. They are all about production. Normally, in order to save time, we usually keep each meeting to 40 minutes. Chaired by the production manager, participants include all invited department supervisors, managers and engineers. And our general manager comes to attend daily meetings every day. He is very capable person, from Malaysia and speaks both Chinese and English fluently. About 90% of managers have attended graduate level school abroad and have overseas work experiences. And, all engineers are able to read, speak and write English. They are sent to American for advanced training and learning when they join the company, their fortunes make me green with envy.
The aim of our daily production meeting is to track the progress and performance of every department. When a problem is identified, we are required to come up with a solution quickly, our general manager are very concerned about the improvement results in the conference.
Our general manager requires everyone to speak in English in daily production meeting, although Mandarin is allowed in discussion sessions. Sadly, because my pronunciation is simply terrible, I have never had the courage to express my opinions in English.
