Major Responsibilities Of SQE(GM)/STA(Ford)

Major Responsibilities:
•Develop strategy to implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives in the supply base of China with the further development of their Quality Operating System.
•Conduct in-depth assessment of suppliers' in-country quality systems and manufacturing processes. Develop and implement manufacturing process and quality improvement plans.
•Conduct needs assessment of China Sourcing STA personnel as well as external suppliers relative to quality and Q1/Lean Manufacturing training. Provide training as required and develop a train-the-trainer (TTT) process.
•Implement Ford "best quality practices" (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.) at external suppliers.
•Coordinate QS-9000 certification and the Q1 Program for China external suppliers in conjunction with JV purchasing offices.
•Actively participate in the development and implementation of component/supplier sourcing and validation plans.
•Provide short term STA assistance to local activities during periods of high workload (i.e., new model launches, new local purchase initiatives, etc.).
•Assess supplier launch readiness to assure program targets are achieved.
•Drive resolution of part-specific quality concerns. Develop appropriate reactions plans.
