Certified Diverse Supplier means a supplier that has been certified by a qualified independent third party agency as a “service-disabled veteran-owned small business concern,” a “HUBZone small business concern,” a “small disadvantaged business concern,” a “women-owned small business concern” or a small business concern that is controlled by one or more “socially and economically disadvantaged individuals,” as those terms are used in 48 C.F.R. 2.101 or 13 C.F.R. 124.1003.

组织为确保所有相关的潜在供应商有公平和平等的机会在其供应链中完成业务而采取的主动活动。这可以包括微型、中小型企业（广义上分别是员工人数少于 10、少于 50 和少于 250 名的企业）、社会企业、“本地”供应商（其中“本地”由合同范围定义）和少数群体拥有和控制多数股权的企业，包括但不限于少数族裔、移民、妇女、LGBTQ+ 人士、武装部队退伍军人和残疾人。
2、关于多元化供应商认证，
目前没有一个机构可以颁发所有的多元化供应商认证。
在美国许多地方、地区和州政府提供第三方认证，一些组织也可以评估公司的特定认证。主要的认证组织包括：
Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)
National Women’s Business Council (NWBC)
National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)
U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs Vets First Verification Program
National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC)

一般看美国当地政府的要求，各地不同，在某些州可以的在另外一些州会不认同。比如，有些会要求当地认证机构来认证。
