From Dr. Ann Hogue Text “First Steps in Academic Writing”, p. 62
Step 1: Combine the sentences in each of the ten groups to make one sentence. Some of your sentences will be simple, and some will be compound. There may be more than one possible correct way to combine each group.
Step 2: Write the sentences as a paragraph. Add listing-order transition signals (First, … Second, … Third …) to each main point and a conclusion signal to the concluding sentence. (Hint: There are three main points.)

It is often said that women are the weaker sex, but women are actually superior to men in several ways.
First, Women live longer than men. There are 105 boys to every 100 girls at birth but there are twice as many women as men at age 80.On the average women live seven years longer than men that do this in the United States,
Second, Women live healthier than men. Men are physically stronger than women and Women are mentally stronger. For example, more men than women had emotional problems. This happened during bombing attacks on London in World War II.
Third, Women are better than men at things that involve the five senses. Women have the shaper sense of smell and taste. This difference starts at birth until old age in all countries of the world.
Do you still believe that women are “the weaker sex”?
