IT'S a time for change. For an increasing number of people, travel is more than simply reaching a chosen place and spreading out a beach towel. People are now looking for more than strong sun and white sandy beaches to help them relax.
Don't just sunbathe! Get out and play in the water. Increasing numbers of travellers want to find a sense of adventure on their holidays. They hope to expand their personal horizons as well as their geographical ones.
So, they fly to the Himalayas to go climbing or mountian-biking. They go on a boat and set sail around the world. They even raft down great rivers in South America and surf on the seas of the Indian.
It is not hard to notice that there now has to be a sense of purpose when it comes to planinng holidays. "It is a need to compete and a disire to accomplish," said Briton Martin O'Brien former travel editor of Vogue magazine in the UK.
Nowadays, it's not so much the choice of destination, but what to do when you get there. There are no rules, just your imagination; no limits, just your own desires.
