Requests and Suggestions

In everyday life we often find ourselves in situations where we need to ask someone to do something. It is important to know that we can often show our politeness in varying degrees by saying things like this:
Lend me some money(please).
I was wondering if you could possibly lend me one thousand Yuan.
General speaking, the more indirect the expression you use, the more polite you will seem.
When we have problems of one kind or another, we often ask for advice from our friends and acquaintances, directly or indirectly. We give suggestions when other people have problems and ask for our advice. We ask for permission to give it because some people don't like to be given suggestions. In rather formal situations, especially when we want to offer unasked-for suggestions, we tend to build up the background beforehand and then lead into such suggestions with vacuous phrases often using would or should.
