Invitation and appointments

Much of our social and professional lives involve invitations and appointments. Every day we extend
some sort of invitation and may receive such invitation and accept them. When we refuse, we usually
thank the person who has invited us and apologize for not being able to accept. Nowadays, most
people tend to be particular about time. When you are invited anywhere, they always tell you the time
and expect you come on time. If you can't get there in time, it is polite to call and say you will be late. If
you do arrive late, apologize as soon as you arrive.
Making appointment is arranging time and place with people in advance for certain activity. It is both
polite and efficient to make appointment for social activities. Once an appointment is made, you should
keep it. Make clear about what to do, when to do and where to do it in your appointment. Being
punctual is very important, it is very impolite to be late for your appointments with others.
