Dear colleagues,
During the years, we received feedbacks and enquiries from employees that they are interesting in English training for business writing, reading, listening and grammar to enhance their language ability. In 2008, we have introduced “E-platform Business English Learning on-line program”, we assumed you should received monthly update email from HR department on E-Platform and hope you are enjoying the learning subjects and new feature that brought from E-Platform every month!
In addition, we identified “Really English” provides formal online courses with defined completion program running over flexible study periods in 6 months. In 2009, we have arranged 20 employees to take the 6-month online English course as a trial run. We got very positive feedback from these employees for this new options of English study. Thus, the Company decided to offer this training option to Asia Sourcing employees further in 2010.
We plan to arrange 2 batches (each batch can entertain a max of 20 employees) of 6-Month online English Study Program in 2010. Employees of Asia Sourcing (include all countries and cities) are eligible to apply for enrolment.
1st batch:
· Interest party please submit Application Form to HRD: before noon of Feb 20, 2010 (Mon)
· HRD will confirm the applicant via email if his/her application approved latest by Feb 26 (Fri)
· Take 1-2 week for Company & Really English Institution to complete the set up for the 6 months online English Study Program
· Applicant start the 6 Months online English Study Program from mid March to mid Sept 2010.
2nd batch:
· Invitation for enrollment will be send early April 2010.
· Target to have the Course start at mid of May 2010 and complete at mid of Nov 2010

Detail of the program you may refer to below Introduction -- 6 months Online English Study:
1) 2 options for the On-line course for enrollment:
(a)“Practical English (實用英語)” or
(b)“Business Writing (商務寫作)”
Practical English:
· For practical daily use and leading business topics; 300 one-hour lessons focusing on grammar, listening and reading;
· Target participants with TOEIC® test score of 300-750 or equivalent;
· Enrolled employees take online initial assessment test, the Really English system will then selects first 10 lessons to each individual based on his/her initial assessment results. Depending on person’s performance in those 10 lessons, the system selects the next 10 lessons to carry on and so on until the person complete the course (completed & passed at least 60 lessons);
Business Writing:
· Particularly recommended for people who write e-mails or reports in English while on the job;
· Target participant with TOEIC@ score of 350+ (no upper limit);
· Course includes entry test and final test graded by a tutor; Total of 30 lessons split into three modules, each lesson takes approximately 45 minutes; Each lesson has a “High” and “Low” version, and learners can choose one or the others, or study both;
2) Both Practical English and Business Writing have been created internationally but customized specifically for learners. They are particularly effective for learners who want to gain the English proficiency necessary in the business world; The courses are designed to keep motivation high by utilizing a simple non-threatening design and fun game-style activities;
3) These two programs are “Practical English (PE)” and “Business Writing (BW)” course – 6 month online courses, with an online mentor offering regular progress reports, encouragement and tutoring. The fee per course (PE or BW) per head RMB1,280. The tuition fee will be grouped under the Education Assistant Program and borne by Asia Sourcing G&A cost centre instead of individual cost centre of the employee belongs to.
