1. SURFACE TO BE PROTECTED FROM PAINT

Some screw joint surfaces have restriction against paint, this because of risk for loss of clamping force due to
embedding.
For threads and machined holes with fit requirements/ ISO tolerances, no paint is allowed.
Engineering department are responsible to define these areas, however the aim and direction should be to
avoid un-treated surfaces.
4.1 Suspension
A maximum of 35 μm paint film thickness is allowed on contact surfaces of e.g. suspension anchorages, leaf
springs and reaction rod brackets.
4.2 V-Stay Anchorages
A maximum of 35 μm paint film thickness is allowed on contact surfaces or in the joints of V-stay anchorages.
4.3 Companion Flange
No paint is allowed on the contact surfaces
4.4 ID Plates
No paint is allowed on the ID plates positioned e.g. on driven rear axles and driven front axles
