I have been asked more than once on what is the key capabilities of a quality manager. Here is some of my thinking:

[]His integrity. A quality manager has to be unbiased and observe law and rule as well.[/]

[]His skill. A quality manager has to master several technical tools in process engineering, methodologies and communication. You cannot set your tone just on one side. More aspects present you more powerful. [/]

[]His flexibility and sense of balance. A quality manager has to be flexible in conflict solution and take the appropriate action considering risks and profit.[/]

[]His load of pressure. A quality manager has to burden high pressure especially under the circumstances of high profit. [/]

[]His knowledgebase. A quality manager has to obtain the multi-field knowledge base in technics, market and Spec.[/]

These are what I am persuing in my career! Hope to get your advice!

I could not agree more, at the same time, a quality manager should be a senior tutor to train his team member to raise theirs quality knowledge, and should handle the relationship with other departments. He will be a " all round" person.
