🦠 Most Probable Number (MPN)
Multi-tube MPN: maximum-likelihood MPN and 95% confidence interval (3-tube / 5-tube method)
🔧 All Tools
Inoculation results per dilution (each line: mL per tube · number of tubes · positive tubes)
Notes
· MPN (most probable number) is solved by maximum-likelihood numerical estimation; supports the 3-tube / 5-tube method or any number of dilutions — no lookup table needed.
· MPN per 100 mL(g) follows the standard reporting basis; the 95% confidence interval is obtained by inverting the profile likelihood.
· If all tubes are positive or all negative, the result is outside the measurable range.
