Complex Sentences

A complex sentence has one independent clause and one or more dependent clauses.

**If the independent clause is first, don't use a comma.

If the dependent clause is first, put a comma after it.**

Example:
We were very excited when we won.
When we won, we were very excited.

Look over the test before you start writing.
Before you start writing, look over the test.
